Chavanga (river)

The Chavanga is a river located on the Kola Peninsula in Murmansk Oblast, Russia. It flows into the White Sea. The river is known for its salmon spawning grounds and is popular for recreational fishing. The Chavanga flows generally eastward through sparsely populated tundra and taiga landscapes. Its length is approximately 63 kilometers (39 miles), and its drainage basin covers an area of 544 square kilometers (210 square miles). The river is primarily fed by snowmelt and rainfall.
