Bill Leslie (commentator)

Bill Leslie is a Scottish broadcaster, journalist, and musician, best known for his long career as a news anchor and presenter for STV (Scottish Television).

Leslie joined STV in 1982 and remained a prominent figure on the channel for over three decades, primarily anchoring the flagship news programme Scotland Today (later STV News at Six). He became a familiar and trusted face to viewers across Scotland.

In addition to his news presenting role, Leslie is also a composer and musician. He plays the piano and has released several albums of his own compositions, drawing inspiration from Scottish landscapes and history. His music has been featured in various television programmes and documentaries.

He retired from STV News in 2016 to focus on his musical career. He continues to compose, perform, and release music, often drawing on his knowledge and love of Scottish culture and history for inspiration. He remains a respected figure in Scottish media and arts.
