Šturmovci

Šturmovci (plural of Šturmovec) refers to members of a Slovenian World War II-era militia. Specifically, they were part of the village guards (Slovene: Vaške straže), also known as White Guards (Slovene: Bela garda), a collaborationist militia that opposed the communist-led Partisans. The term "Šturmovci" often carries a negative connotation in Slovenia due to their collaboration with Nazi German forces and their role in anti-Partisan activities, including violence and persecution. They were active primarily in the region of Lower Carniola and other areas under Italian and then German occupation.
