Larry Sharpe (political activist)
Larry Sharpe (born May 5, 1968) is an American entrepreneur, management consultant, and political activist. He is known for his libertarian views and advocacy for individual liberty, free markets, and limited government.
Sharpe has been a vocal critic of the two-party system and has run for political office multiple times as a Libertarian. He ran for Vice President of the United States in 2016 as the running mate of Austin Petersen, securing the Libertarian Party's nomination at their national convention after Petersen withdrew his candidacy. In 2018, he ran for Governor of New York, receiving approximately 1.5% of the vote. He ran again for Governor of New York in 2022, receiving around 2.4% of the vote.
Sharpe's platform typically focuses on reducing taxes, eliminating regulations, promoting school choice, and reforming the criminal justice system. He often uses social media and public speaking engagements to promote his ideas and engage with voters. He is a proponent of what he calls "The Sharpe Way," which emphasizes leadership, communication, and ethical behavior.
