2nd Squadron (JASDF)

The 2nd Squadron (第2飛行隊, Dai-ni Hikōtai) is a squadron of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) based at Chitose Air Base in Hokkaido, Japan. It is part of the 2nd Air Wing. The squadron is equipped with the Mitsubishi F-15J/DJ Eagle fighter aircraft.

Its primary role is to maintain air defense readiness over the northern part of Japan and to intercept any potential threats approaching Japanese airspace. The 2nd Squadron frequently conducts training exercises to maintain a high level of combat proficiency and operates in conjunction with other JASDF units and allied forces. Its history dates back to the early days of the JASDF, playing a significant role in safeguarding Japan's national security. The squadron also participates in public air shows and events.
