Flemming Meyer (politician)
Flemming Meyer (born December 25, 1930, died April 7, 2021) was a Danish politician. He was a member of the Centre Democrats (Centrum-Demokraterne) and served in the Folketing (Danish Parliament) for various periods between 1973 and 1994.
Meyer held several ministerial positions during his political career, including Minister for Public Works (Trafikminister) from 1982 to 1986 in the Poul Schlüter government. He was also Minister for Energy (Energiminister) for a short period in 1986.
Beyond his parliamentary and ministerial work, Meyer was involved in local politics and held positions within the Centre Democrats party. He was known for his pragmatic approach to politics and his focus on infrastructure and energy policy. His contributions to Danish politics were primarily within the fields of transportation, energy, and general public administration. He was also a controversial figure within his own party at times, known for independent views.
