Michael Wallace (politician)
Michael Wallace is an Irish politician who has served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Clare constituency since the 2020 general election. He is a member of the independent political grouping, Independents4Change.
Wallace was born and raised in County Clare. Prior to entering national politics, he was a local councillor for the Killaloe Municipal District of Clare County Council, first elected in 2014.
His political positions are generally considered to be left-wing. He has focused on issues such as housing affordability, rural development, and environmental protection in his work as a TD. Wallace has been a vocal critic of government policies he believes exacerbate social inequality. He is known for his contributions to debates in the Dáil Éireann on matters related to agriculture, fishing rights, and supports for vulnerable communities.
