Chris Jones (Arkansas politician)
Chris Jones is an American politician and pastor from the state of Arkansas. He is a member of the Democratic Party.
Jones was the Democratic nominee for Governor of Arkansas in the 2022 election, losing to Republican Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Prior to running for governor, he worked as the executive director of the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub, a non-profit organization focused on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Jones holds a PhD in urban planning from MIT and a degree in physics and math from Morehouse College. He is also an ordained minister. His platform during the 2022 gubernatorial campaign focused on education, healthcare, and economic opportunity, particularly in rural areas of Arkansas. He campaigned on a message of unity and progress.
