Hinamatsuri (manga)
Hinamatsuri is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masao Ōtake. The series began serialization in Enterbrain's Fellows! magazine (later Harta) in 2009 and concluded in 2020. Its chapters were collected into 19 tankōbon volumes.
The story centers around Yoshifumi Nitta, a young yakuza member, and Hina, a mysterious girl with psychokinetic powers who suddenly appears in his apartment. Nitta finds himself reluctantly taking care of Hina, and their unlikely partnership forms the core of the series.
Hinamatsuri blends slice-of-life comedy with elements of science fiction and action. The humor often arises from the juxtaposition of the mundane and the extraordinary, as Hina's powers and Nitta's yakuza lifestyle create absurd and chaotic situations. The series also explores themes of family, responsibility, and personal growth.
An anime television series adaptation produced by feel. aired from April to June 2018. The anime adaptation largely followed the manga's storyline and was well-received.
