It's Alive! (1969 film)

It's Alive! is a 1969 American horror film directed by Larry Buchanan and starring Tommy Kirk, Shirley Knight Hopkins, and Bill Thurman. It is not to be confused with the 1974 film of the same name directed by Larry Cohen.

The film centers around a young couple, Sheila and Bob Wilton (played by Shirley Knight Hopkins and Tommy Kirk respectively), who are terrorized by a monstrous, rapidly growing baby that Sheila unexpectedly gives birth to. The infant possesses sharp claws and teeth and has an uncontrollable homicidal rage, leaving a trail of victims in its wake as the couple attempts to protect it and understand its origins.

The movie is known for its low-budget production values, campy acting, and heavy reliance on practical effects, which often contribute to its cult status within the horror genre.
