Bryan Cox
Bryan Cox (born March 1, 1968) is a former American football player. He was a highly successful defensive tackle and defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for twelve seasons, from 1991 to 2002.
Cox played college football at Western Illinois University. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fifth round of the 1991 NFL Draft. He quickly established himself as a key player on the Dolphins' defense, known for his intensity, aggressive playing style, and vocal leadership.
During his five seasons with the Dolphins (1991-1995), Cox was a three-time Pro Bowl selection (1992, 1993, 1994). He was a cornerstone of the Dolphins' defensive line, contributing significantly to their playoff appearances during those years.
Following his tenure with the Dolphins, Cox played for the Chicago Bears (1996-1997), New York Jets (1998-1999), New England Patriots (2000), and New Orleans Saints (2001). He finished his career with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2002.
Cox was known for his fiery temperament and on-field intensity, often engaging in trash talk and exhibiting passionate displays of emotion. While sometimes controversial, his passion contributed to his effectiveness as a defensive player and made him a memorable figure in the NFL.
After his playing career, Cox worked as a coach, including serving as a defensive line coach for various NFL teams. He is the father of NFL linebacker Kiko Alonso.
