National road 94 (Poland)

National road 94 (Poland) is a route of the Polish national road network. It runs from Zgorzelec, on the German border, through major cities like Bolesławiec, Legnica, Wrocław, Opole, Gliwice, and Kraków, before terminating in Tarnów. It is primarily a major east-west thoroughfare in southern Poland, running roughly parallel to the A4 motorway. Before the construction and expansion of the A4, National Road 94 served as the primary route for long-distance traffic traveling east and west across the southern part of the country. While the A4 now carries a significant portion of this traffic, National Road 94 remains an important route for local traffic, connecting smaller towns and cities not directly served by the motorway. It also serves as an alternative route to the A4, particularly during periods of heavy congestion or maintenance on the motorway. The road varies in quality and configuration along its length, with some sections being multi-lane highways and others being narrower two-lane roads passing through urban areas.
