Yuju (singer)

Yuju (최유나), also known mononymously as Yuju, is a South Korean singer and songwriter. She was born Choi Yu-na on October 4, 1997.

Yuju is best known as the main vocalist of the South Korean girl group GFriend, which debuted in 2015 under Source Music and disbanded in 2021. During her time with GFriend, she was recognized for her powerful and distinctive vocals, often cited for her impressive high notes and control. She participated in several of GFriend's hit songs, including "Me Gustas Tu," "Rough," "Navillera," and "Time for the Moon Night."

Beyond her activities with GFriend, Yuju has also pursued solo endeavors. She has released several solo singles and collaborations, showcasing her versatility as a vocalist. These include contributions to original soundtracks (OSTs) for various Korean dramas. Some notable examples are "Spring Is Gone by Chance" with Loco, which gained significant popularity, and her solo song “Play” for the drama “Run On.”

In September 2021, Yuju signed with Konnect Entertainment, founded by singer Kang Daniel, to pursue her solo career. She made her solo debut on January 18, 2022, with the mini-album [REC.], featuring the title track "Play." Since then, she has continued to release music and participate in various entertainment activities, further solidifying her presence as a solo artist in the Korean music industry.

Her artistry is characterized by a blend of powerful vocals, emotional expression, and a growing songwriting portfolio, appealing to fans both domestically and internationally.
