Acidity (album)

Acidity is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band System of a Down, released on June 30, 1998, by American Recordings and Columbia Records. The album was produced by Rick Rubin, who would continue to work with the band on their subsequent albums.

Acidity features a blend of alternative metal, nu-metal, and Armenian folk influences. The lyrical themes of the album cover a wide range of sociopolitical issues, including drug abuse, political corruption, and violence.

Although initially met with mixed reviews and slow sales, Acidity gradually gained popularity through word-of-mouth and touring. It is considered by many fans to be an important foundational work for the band, showcasing their unique sound and lyrical approach.
