George Kerr (Australian politician)

George Kerr (born 26 August 1921, died 22 June 2010) was an Australian politician. He served as a Labor member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 1961 to 1981.

Kerr was born in Sydney and educated at Fort Street Boys' High School. Prior to entering parliament, he worked as a teacher and lectured at the Sydney Teachers' College. He was a prominent figure within the Australian Labor Party, actively involved in various party committees and organizations.

During his tenure in the Legislative Council, Kerr served on several committees, including those related to education, social welfare, and public works. He was a vocal advocate for improvements in education, particularly for disadvantaged students. He also focused on issues relating to workers' rights and consumer protection.

After retiring from parliament in 1981, Kerr remained active in community affairs.
