SM UC-98
SM UC-98 was a German Type UC II minelaying submarine or U-boat in the German Imperial Navy (Kaiserliche Marine) during World War I. She was commissioned on December 20, 1917.
UC-98 primarily served in the Flanders Flotilla, operating in the English Channel and surrounding waters. Her missions consisted largely of laying mines in strategic locations to disrupt enemy shipping and naval operations.
UC-98 was credited with sinking a number of vessels during her service, contributing to the overall U-boat campaign. Like many submarines of the era, her operational life was relatively short.
Following the armistice in November 1918, UC-98 was surrendered to the Allied forces. She was subsequently broken up for scrap. Details regarding specific commanders and precise sinking records can be found in historical naval archives.
