Granada (video game)

Granada is a 1990 overhead run-and-gun shooter video game developed and published by Wolf Team for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. It is a spiritual successor to their earlier game, Zanac.

The game puts players in control of Hein, a mercenary hired to retrieve a powerful energy source known as the "Ema Star" from a heavily fortified fortress called Granada. Hein pilots a heavily armed tank, Granada, capable of moving in eight directions and firing in four.

Granada is characterized by its intricate level design, featuring maze-like structures and numerous hidden areas. Gameplay emphasizes exploration and resource management, as players must collect power-ups to upgrade Granada's weaponry and health.

The game features a variety of enemies and bosses, each with unique attack patterns and weaknesses. Players must utilize different weapon combinations and strategies to overcome the challenges presented. Granada also utilizes a dynamic difficulty system, adjusting enemy aggressiveness based on the player's performance.

While not as widely known as some other run-and-gun titles of the era, Granada has garnered a cult following for its challenging gameplay, innovative level design, and engaging soundtrack.
