Kirnach (Brigach)
Kirnach is a small village, part of the town of Brigachtal, located in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It lies on the Brigach, one of the two headstreams of the Danube River. Due to its location on the Brigach, Kirnach is often associated with discussions and geographical information related to the source of the Danube. The confluence of the Brigach and Breg rivers, traditionally considered the source of the Danube, is located near Donaueschingen, a short distance from Kirnach. Therefore, Kirnach's identity is intertwined with the hydrology and geography of the Danube River basin. The local economy is predominantly agricultural, with some tourism related to the Danube Cycle Path (Donauradweg) which follows the river.
