Each episode of RocKwiz features two teams of two contestants, typically members of the public chosen for their music knowledge and enthusiasm. These contestants are paired with two celebrity musicians who serve as team captains. - Who Can It Be Now?: Contestants must identify a song from a short audio clip.
- Million Dollar Riff: Contestants must name a song based on a guitar riff.
- RocKwiz Orchestrated: Contestants must identify a song after it is performed by the RocKwiz Orkestra.
- What Are You Saying?: Contestants must identify a song based on a garbled or distorted vocal clip.
- The Impossible Question: A very difficult question posed by host Julia Zemiro.
The winning team from each episode advances to the grand final at the end of each season.
