Pillar Point (band)
Pillar Point was an American indie pop band formed in Seattle, Washington in 2008. The band was fronted by Scott Reitherman, who served as the primary songwriter, vocalist, and instrumentalist.
Known for their catchy melodies, synth-driven sound, and introspective lyrics, Pillar Point released two full-length albums: Pillar Point (2014) and Marble Mouth (2015). They also released several EPs and singles. Their music often explored themes of love, loss, and existentialism, often delivered with a danceable, upbeat energy.
Pillar Point toured extensively, performing at festivals such as Bumbershoot and South by Southwest (SXSW). The band's lineup often included additional musicians who contributed to live performances.
The project was dissolved by Reitherman following personal struggles and shifts in creative direction after the release of Marble Mouth. Although no longer active, Pillar Point's music continues to be available on streaming platforms and their albums remain cult favorites among fans of indie pop.
