Alan Green (footballer, born 1951)

Alan Green (born 29 August 1951) is an English former professional footballer. He played as a defender.

Green began his career with Gillingham, making his debut in the Football League in 1968. He went on to make over 200 league appearances for the club. He was known for his tough tackling and no-nonsense approach to defending.

In 1977, Green transferred to Peterborough United. He spent three years with the club, adding further league appearances to his career total.

Following his time at Peterborough, Green moved into non-league football.
