Ministry of Investment (Saudi Arabia)
The Ministry of Investment (MISA), previously known as the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), is a ministry in the government of Saudi Arabia responsible for fostering investment within the Kingdom. Its mandate includes attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), promoting domestic investment, and enhancing the overall investment climate in Saudi Arabia.
MISA plays a key role in the realization of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, a strategic framework aimed at diversifying the Saudi economy away from its reliance on oil. The Ministry is tasked with streamlining investment procedures, improving regulatory frameworks, and identifying investment opportunities across various sectors. These sectors include, but are not limited to, technology, renewable energy, tourism, healthcare, and manufacturing.
The Ministry provides services to investors, including licensing, facilitation, and support in navigating the Saudi Arabian business environment. It works closely with other government entities and the private sector to create a conducive environment for both domestic and foreign investment.
MISA's efforts are aimed at contributing to economic growth, job creation, and the development of a diversified and sustainable economy in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry is led by the Minister of Investment, a member of the Saudi Arabian cabinet.
