Zane Weir

Zane Weir (born September 25, 1995) is an Italian shot putter. He represents Italy internationally after previously representing South Africa.

Weir achieved a significant breakthrough in 2021, improving his personal best substantially and establishing himself as a contender on the international scene. He won the gold medal at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome.

His personal best throw is 22.15 meters, achieved in 2024. He is known for his rotational throwing technique.

Weir is coached by Paolo Dal Soglio.
