Bonaventure (Province of Canada electoral district)
Bonaventure was a provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada, existing from 1867 to 1966. It was located in the Gaspé Peninsula region. The district was created with the initial establishment of Quebec's provincial legislature after Canadian Confederation. It primarily encompassed the territory of Bonaventure County.
Throughout its existence, Bonaventure elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Quebec legislature. The political representation in Bonaventure shifted between various parties including the Conservative Party, the Liberal Party, and occasionally other minor parties or independent candidates. The district generally favored the Liberal party for much of the 20th century.
The boundaries of Bonaventure were subject to periodic revisions as part of electoral boundary adjustments.
In 1966, the electoral district of Bonaventure was abolished. Its territory was largely incorporated into the new electoral district of Bonaventure-Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
