Blue (Third Eye Blind album)
Blue is the second studio album by the American rock band Third Eye Blind. Released on November 23, 1999, by Elektra Records, it followed the band's self-titled debut album from 1997.
The album marked a shift in the band's sound, incorporating more electronic elements and a darker lyrical tone compared to their previous work. Production was handled by Stephan Jenkins, the band's frontman, and Eric Valentine, who also worked on their debut.
Blue features the singles "Anything," "Never Let You Go," and "10 Days Late." While it achieved platinum certification, it was not as commercially successful as their first album. The album received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its experimentation and others finding it inconsistent.
Despite its mixed reception, Blue remains a notable entry in Third Eye Blind's discography, demonstrating the band's willingness to evolve their sound and explore different musical directions. It showcases a more introspective and emotionally complex side of the band.
