Second VA-125 (U.S. Navy)
VA-125, the second squadron to bear that designation in the United States Navy, was an aviation training unit. It was commissioned as Attack Squadron 125 (VA-125) on 13 September 1968 and disestablished on 29 November 1996. Known as the "Rough Raiders," its primary mission was to provide pilot and maintenance training on the A-7 Corsair II aircraft for both fleet replacement pilots and maintenance personnel. VA-125 was based at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, throughout its existence. Prior to the A-7, the squadron trained personnel on the A-4 Skyhawk. The squadron received transition and upgrades to new versions of the A-7 until its decommissioning following the A-7's retirement from active service in the U.S. Navy.
