Honna Dam

The Honna Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the Katsura River in Uenohara, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. Primarily built for flood control and water supply, it also provides some hydroelectric power generation. Construction of the dam was completed in 1967. The dam's reservoir, Lake Tsurusaki, is a popular recreational area for boating and fishing. The Honna Dam is managed by the Yamanashi Prefectural Government. The dam plays a crucial role in regulating water flow within the Katsura River basin, mitigating the risk of downstream flooding and ensuring a stable water supply for agricultural and domestic use in the region.
