Cracker is an American rock band founded in 1991 by singer David Lowery and guitarist Johnny Hickman. Lowery and Hickman, previously of the band Camper Van Beethoven, formed Cracker in Riverside, California.

Cracker's sound blends elements of alternative rock, country, punk, and blues. They are known for their sardonic lyrics and diverse musical styles. Their debut album, Cracker, was released in 1992 and featured the singles "Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)" and "Happy Birthday to Me."

The band achieved mainstream success with their second album, Kerosene Hat, released in 1993. This album spawned the hit singles "Low," "Get Off This," and "Euro-Trash Girl." Kerosene Hat is considered their most commercially successful and critically acclaimed work.

Cracker has continued to release albums throughout their career, including The Golden Age (1996), Gentleman's Blues (1998), Forever (2002), Greenland (2006), Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey (2009), and Berkeley to Bakersfield (2014).
