USS Adria
USS Adria was a United States Navy patrol yacht that served during World War II. Originally built as the private yacht Aras, she was acquired by the Navy in 1942 and commissioned as USS Adria (PYc-33).
Adria was assigned to coastal patrol and anti-submarine duty in the Caribbean Sea and along the Atlantic coast. She primarily escorted convoys and conducted searches for enemy submarines. While she participated in numerous anti-submarine patrols, Adria is not credited with sinking or damaging any enemy vessels.
Following the end of World War II, Adria was decommissioned in 1945 and sold back to private ownership. Her subsequent history and fate are less documented, but it is believed she reverted to use as a private yacht.
