Jickovice

Jickovice is a village in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It is located approximately 8 kilometers (5.0 mi) north of Milevsko and 65 kilometers (40 mi) south of Prague. The village lies on the shore of the Orlík Reservoir, a large dam on the Vltava River.

The municipality covers an area of 11.93 square kilometers (4.61 sq mi) and has a population of approximately 360 (as of 2023).

Historically, the area was primarily agricultural. Today, tourism related to the Orlík Reservoir plays a significant role in the local economy. Popular activities include swimming, boating, fishing, and hiking.

Jickovice is also known for its church, the Church of Saint Giles, which dates back to the 14th century and features Gothic architectural elements. The village also contains smaller chapels and historical rural architecture.
