ROKS Gangwon (FFG-815)

The ROKS Gangwon (FFG-815) is a Daegu-class frigate of the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN). The Daegu-class frigates are multi-role warships designed to replace the aging Pohang-class corvettes and Ulsan-class frigates.

The Gangwon is equipped with advanced sensors, including a 3D radar, and weapons systems designed for anti-ship, anti-submarine, and anti-air warfare. Its armament typically includes anti-ship missiles, a close-in weapon system (CIWS), and a 5-inch gun. The ship also has a flight deck capable of supporting helicopter operations.

Commissioned into service, the ROKS Gangwon (FFG-815) plays a vital role in maritime security, patrol operations, and force projection for the Republic of Korea.
