Wertach
The Wertach is a river in Bavaria, Germany. It is a right tributary of the Lech.
The Wertach rises in the Allgäu Alps, near Bad Hindelang. It flows generally northwards, passing through towns such as Wertach (from which it derives its name), Nesselwang, Marktoberdorf, Kaufbeuren, and Schwabmünchen. It joins the Lech River near Augsburg.
The river is approximately 141 kilometers (88 miles) long. The Wertach is used for hydroelectric power generation, and its valley is a popular area for recreation and tourism.
