Weidorje
Weidorje was a French progressive rock band active in the late 1970s. They are most known for their single studio album, "Weidorje," released in 1978. The album is characterized by its complex arrangements, heavy use of synthesizers, and blend of rock, jazz, and classical influences, often drawing comparisons to bands such as Magma, Univers Zero, and Zao.
The band consisted of Michel Ettori (keyboards, composition), Bernard Paganotti (bass, vocals), Kirt Rust (drums), Jean-Philippe Goude (keyboards), Patrick Gauthier (keyboards), and Pierre Alain Dahan (percussion). Ettori was the primary composer for the group.
Although the band's lifespan was relatively short, their album has gained a cult following among progressive rock enthusiasts due to its intricate instrumentation and distinctive sound. The album is considered a significant contribution to the zeuhl subgenre and the broader progressive rock landscape. Due to its rarity, original vinyl copies of "Weidorje" are highly sought after by collectors. The album has since been reissued on CD and digital formats.
