Charmed (2018 TV series)

Charmed is an American fantasy drama television series developed by Jennie Snyder Urman, Jessica O'Toole, and Amy Rardin, which aired on The CW from October 14, 2018, to March 11, 2022, for four seasons. It is a reboot of the original Charmed series, which aired from 1998 to 2006.

The series centers on three sisters – Mel, Maggie, and Macy (later replaced by Michaela) – who, after the death of their mother, discover they are witches, the "Charmed Ones," destined to protect innocents from demons and other dark forces. Each sister possesses a unique power. Mel is a lesbian activist with the power to freeze time; Maggie is a college student with the ability to hear people's thoughts; and Macy, the eldest sister introduced in the initial cast, is a scientist with telekinetic abilities. Michaela, introduced later, possessed the power of telekinesis, later evolving into the ability to pull objects from other dimensions.

The sisters are guided by their Whitelighter, Harry Greenwood, who trains them in the use of their powers and helps them navigate the magical world. He later becomes romantically involved with Macy Vaughn. The series explores themes of sisterhood, feminism, LGBTQ+ representation, and the challenges of balancing their personal lives with their magical destiny.

The reboot faced criticism for its divergence from the original Charmed series and its perceived focus on social justice issues over the fantasy elements. However, it also garnered a dedicated fanbase for its diverse cast and contemporary storylines. The cast experienced several changes throughout its run, notably the departure of Madeleine Mantock, who played Macy Vaughn, after season three, and the subsequent addition of Lucy Barrett as Michaela.
