James Mason (cricketer)
James Mason (born 19 May 1874, date of death unknown) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire in 1901.
Mason was born at Eckington, Derbyshire. He made his debut for Derbyshire against Warwickshire in June 1901, when he took a catch. His next game was against London County when he took a catch and scored 5 runs in the first innings and 3 in the second. He played one further match in the 1901 season against Lancashire, achieving a top score of 9.
Mason was a right-handed batsman and played three first-class matches with an average of 3.60 and a top score of 9. He took two catches. He was a right-arm slow bowler, but did not bowl in first-class cricket.
