Oka (Bithynia)
Oka was an ancient settlement located in the region of Bithynia in northwestern Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey). Its precise location is uncertain, but historical sources place it within the broader area near the Sea of Marmara. Oka is primarily known from numismatic evidence, specifically coins minted there during the Roman Imperial period. These coins suggest that Oka was a community of some significance, possessing a degree of autonomy allowing it to produce its own coinage. Little else is known about the history or societal structure of Oka beyond what can be inferred from these coins. Further archaeological discoveries would be needed to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the settlement.
