Waqt (1965 film)

Waqt is a 1965 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Yash Chopra, starring Sunil Dutt, Raaj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Sadhana, Balraj Sahni, Sharmila Tagore, Madan Puri, and Achala Sachdev. It is considered a landmark film in Bollywood, pioneering the "lost and found" genre of Indian cinema, where family members are separated during a disaster and reunite years later.

The film revolves around a wealthy family separated by an earthquake. The patriarch, Lala Kedarnath (Balraj Sahni), loses his wife and three sons are scattered. The plot follows the lives of these sons as they grow up in different circumstances, unaware of their familial connections. One son, Raju (Sunil Dutt), becomes a thief. Another, Vijay (Raaj Kumar), becomes a successful lawyer. The youngest, Ravi (Shashi Kapoor), is raised by a poor family.
