Charles Godfrey (American football)

Charles Godfrey (born October 10, 1985) is a former American football safety. He played college football at Iowa and was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Godfrey played in the NFL for eight seasons, primarily for the Carolina Panthers (2008-2013). He also played briefly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2014) and the Atlanta Falcons (2015). During his NFL career, he was known for his hard-hitting style and versatility in the defensive backfield. He recorded multiple interceptions and forced fumbles during his time in the league.

Prior to his NFL career, Godfrey was a standout player for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was a three-year starter at safety and earned All-Big Ten honors. He was recognized for his athletic ability and leadership on the field.

Since retiring from professional football, Godfrey has been involved in coaching and mentoring young athletes.
