Terraplane (band)

Terraplane was a British hard rock band formed in London in 1981. The band was fronted by vocalist Danny Bowes, with Luke Morley on guitar, Pete Green on bass, and Gary Watts on drums.

Known for their energetic live performances and blues-infused hard rock sound, Terraplane was initially associated with the burgeoning New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) scene, although their style incorporated elements of classic rock and blues.

The band released two studio albums: Black and White (1985) and Moving Target (1986). Black and White was a commercial success, reaching the UK Albums Chart. The band supported major acts such as Def Leppard and Meat Loaf, further expanding their fanbase.

Despite their initial success, Terraplane disbanded in 1988. Bowes and Morley went on to form the band Thunder, achieving greater commercial success and longevity. Green later played with various other bands, while Watts largely retired from professional music.

Although short-lived, Terraplane is remembered for its contributions to the British hard rock scene of the 1980s and for laying the foundation for the later success of Thunder.
