Bill Champion (baseball)

William "Bill" Champion (born June 14, 1947) is a former professional baseball player. He was a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for parts of two seasons, 1969 and 1970.

Champion signed with the Philadelphia Phillies as an amateur free agent in 1966. He made his major league debut with the Phillies on July 11, 1969. In 1969, he pitched in 8 games, with a 1-1 record and a 4.63 ERA.

In 1970, Champion appeared in 10 games, finishing with a 0-1 record and a 4.50 ERA. His final major league appearance was on July 15, 1970.

After his time in the majors, Champion continued to play in the minor leagues, but never returned to the major league level. He primarily pitched as a reliever during his MLB career.
