David Jones (Clwyd West MP)
David Jones (Clwyd West MP) is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Clwyd West since 2005.
Jones was born in Bangor, Wales. He was educated at University College London, where he studied law. Before entering politics, he worked as a solicitor specializing in commercial law.
He was first elected to Parliament in the 2005 general election, succeeding the Labour MP Gareth Thomas.
During his time in Parliament, Jones has held a number of ministerial positions. He served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Wales from 2010 to 2012, and as Secretary of State for Wales from 2012 to 2014. He later served as a Minister of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union from 2016 to 2017.
Jones is known for his Eurosceptic views and was a prominent supporter of the campaign to leave the European Union. He has also been involved in debates and legislation related to Welsh affairs, the economy, and legal matters. He continues to represent the constituency of Clwyd West in the UK Parliament.
