Jack Powell (pitcher, born 1891)

Jack Powell (born John D. Powell, December 29, 1891, in Kersey, Pennsylvania; died May 21, 1963, in Bradenton, Florida) was an American professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1915 to 1921. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1915–1917, 1921), New York Giants (1919), and Cincinnati Reds (1920).

Powell primarily pitched as a right-hander. His most effective seasons were with the Cardinals, where he served primarily as a starting pitcher. He was known for his durability and control. After his major league career, Powell continued to play and manage in the minor leagues.
