Udo Hild

Udo Hild (born 1942) is a German mathematician specializing in functional analysis and operator theory. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tübingen in 1970 under the supervision of Hellmuth Kneser. He held academic positions at the University of Tübingen and later at the University of Konstanz, where he retired as professor emeritus. Hild's research interests include the theory of Banach algebras, spectral theory of operators, and related topics in abstract analysis. He is known for his contributions to the study of the numerical range and its properties.
