CFRQ-FM
CFRQ-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 107.3 MHz on the FM band in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It is owned by Cogeco Media and broadcasts a mainstream rock format, branded as "Q104."
The station first signed on the air in 1978. Its call letters, CFRQ, are derived from the word "rock." For many years, the station was owned by Standard Broadcasting. In 2007, Astral Media acquired Standard Broadcasting's radio assets, including CFRQ-FM. In 2013, Bell Media acquired Astral Media. In 2018, CFRQ-FM was acquired by Cogeco Media.
CFRQ-FM is one of the leading rock stations in the Halifax market, known for its on-air personalities and community involvement. The station's studios are located on Sackville Street in downtown Halifax. Its transmitter is located on Washmill Lake Drive in Clayton Park.
