Ardelve
Ardelve is a small village in the Lochalsh area of the Scottish Highlands. It is located on the shores of Loch Long, near the point where Loch Long meets Loch Alsh. Ardelve is situated approximately six miles east of Kyle of Lochalsh and lies within the Highland council area.
The village is primarily a residential area with some tourism-related services. Its proximity to the Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland's most iconic castles, makes it a popular base for visitors exploring the surrounding region. Ardelve offers scenic views of the loch and the surrounding mountains.
Historically, Ardelve's economy was based on crofting and fishing. While these industries have declined, tourism now plays a more significant role in the local economy.
Amenities in Ardelve are limited; however, the larger village of Dornie, which is adjacent to Ardelve via the A87 road, offers a wider range of services, including shops, restaurants, and accommodation. Public transportation is available via bus services that connect Ardelve with other towns and villages in the area.
