Hamastan

Hamastan is a derogatory and politically charged term used to refer to the Gaza Strip, particularly when it is under the control of Hamas. The term combines "Hamas," the Palestinian Sunni-Islamist fundamentalist organization governing the territory, with the suffix "-stan," a suffix common in the names of countries in Central and South Asia.

The term is often used by those critical of Hamas' rule and policies, frequently implying that the Gaza Strip is a territory associated with or supportive of terrorism and/or is governed in a manner akin to authoritarian regimes in Central Asia.
