Wolf WR1
The Wolf WR1 was a Formula One racing car designed and built by the Walter Wolf Racing team for the 1977 Formula One season. It was designed by Harvey Postlethwaite and driven by Jody Scheckter.
The WR1 proved immediately competitive, winning in its debut race at the 1977 Argentine Grand Prix. Scheckter went on to win two more races that season, at Monaco and Canada, and finished second in the World Drivers' Championship. The car was known for its clean design and powerful Cosworth DFV engine. It represented a significant achievement for a relatively new team, quickly establishing Walter Wolf Racing as a force to be reckoned with in Formula One. The WR1 chassis was developed throughout the season and continued to be used, in modified form, into the 1978 season, although with diminishing success.
