Turners Cross (stadium)
Turners Cross, also known as "The Cross" to local supporters, is a football stadium located in Cork, Ireland. It is the home ground of League of Ireland Premier Division club Cork City FC.
The stadium has a capacity of approximately 7,485, with seating for roughly 3,000 spectators in the Derrynane Stand and the covered Shed End. The remaining capacity is terrace standing.
Turners Cross has been the home of Cork City since the club's formation in 1984. Prior to this, it served as the home ground for several other Cork-based football clubs, most notably Cork Hibernians and Cork Celtic. The ground has undergone several renovations and upgrades over the years to meet League of Ireland standards.
The stadium is known for its passionate atmosphere, particularly during important matches and derby games against rivals such as Waterford FC. Turners Cross is also used occasionally for other sporting events and concerts. The stadium is located south of Cork City Centre, and is easily accessible by public transport.
