Aldo Mignone

Aldo Mignone (born in Lecce, Italy) is an Italian astrophysicist and researcher specializing in computational magnetohydrodynamics and its application to astrophysical plasmas. He is known for his contributions to the development and application of the PLUTO code, a widely used software package for simulating astrophysical flows.

Mignone obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Turin. His research focuses on understanding the dynamics of magnetized plasmas in various astrophysical environments, including accretion disks around black holes, jets from active galactic nuclei, and the solar wind. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at numerous international conferences.

Mignone is actively involved in the development and maintenance of the PLUTO code, contributing to its capabilities and usability for the broader astrophysical community.
