Qaleh Kak
Qaleh Kak (قلعه کاک) is a historical castle located in the Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran. The name translates to "Kak Castle" in Persian.
The castle is believed to date back to the Sasanian era, though some researchers suggest earlier origins. It is situated on a raised plateau, a strategically advantageous position for defense and observation. The structure is primarily constructed from mud brick and consists of walls, towers, and inner courtyards.
Historically, Qaleh Kak played a significant role in controlling the surrounding region and protecting trade routes. Over the centuries, it has been occupied and modified by various ruling dynasties. Today, the castle stands as a partially preserved ruin, subject to ongoing archaeological research and conservation efforts. It is considered a valuable historical site reflecting the architectural and cultural heritage of the region. Due to its location in a remote area, it is often visited by researchers and history enthusiasts.
